Heybike Cityscape 2.0
A step up — bigger battery, UL certified
Checked October 17, 2026
We no longer recommend the Jasion EB5. In Amazon’s summary of its 2,300+ reviews, 158 buyers mention durability negatively against 75 positively, so it failed our review check on October 17, 2026. These are the bikes we pick instead.
The Jasion EB5 is an around-$300 commuter e-bike with more hardware than the price suggests: a 1000W-peak motor (20 mph), dual mechanical disc brakes, a lockable front fork, a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain, throttle with cruise control, and a removable 360Wh battery with no UL certification named on the listing. The trade-off is range: 360Wh works out to roughly 15-25 real-world miles, well short of the 40-mile claim. Buy it for short, mostly paved trips on the lowest budget; step up to the Heybike Cityscape 2.0 if you need more battery.
Corrected 8 October 2026: the EB5 listing we link is the one with 2,000+ ratings. It has dual mechanical disc brakes, names no UL certification, sits around $300, and is a separate listing from the pricier EB5 MAX, Ultra and Sport that appear first in an Amazon search. Earlier versions of this review said the EB5 made no UL claim and leaned on a large review history; both points have been corrected, and the button below now goes straight to the EB5 listing.
The EB5 fits riders who want a real commuter, not a toy, for the least money:
It is a weaker fit if you ride more than about 15-20 miles between charges, carry heavy loads up long hills, or need a UL-certified bike for your building. The EB5 listing we link has a long review history (2,000+ ratings), but it names no UL certification.
Here is what the current Amazon listing states. Treat wattage and range figures as best-case marketing numbers rather than guaranteed real-world performance.
| Motor | 1000W peak, top speed 20 mph |
|---|---|
| Battery | 360Wh removable, IPX4, 5-6 hour charge, no UL certification named |
| Range | Up to 40 mi pedal-assist (claim); roughly 15-25 mi real-world |
| Modes | Pedal assist, throttle with cruise control, pedal-only, walk assist |
| Brakes | Dual hydraulic disc |
| Drivetrain | Shimano 7-speed |
| Wheels & suspension | 26 × 1.95 in tires, lockable front suspension |
Specs from the current Amazon listing per our evaluation methodology. Real-world range uses the 15-25 Wh-per-mile rule from our real-world range page. Confirm the exact configuration on the live listing before buying.
The Heybike Cityscape 2.0 sits in the under-$500 band. For the extra money you get a bigger 468Wh removable battery (roughly 19-31 real-world miles), about 90% pre-assembled shipping, a UL-certified system named on its listing. The EB5 matches or beats it on price and owner history; the Cityscape wins on range and setup.

If you need more range than 360Wh at a low price, our best e-bike under $300 and best e-bike under $500 guides compare battery size across the budget tiers, and the Range Reality Index converts every advertised range into a realistic one.
As listed today, the Jasion EB5 is one of the most capable e-bikes you can buy on Amazon for under $300: mechanical disc brakes, a throttle with cruise control, a 7-speed drivetrain, and no UL certification named on the listing. Its small 360Wh battery is the real limit. Buy it for short trips on the tightest budget; step up to the Heybike Cityscape 2.0 if you need range and a bike with a longer owner track record.
Around-$300 commuter · Mechanical disc brakes · 2,000+ ratings
For short, mostly paved commutes on a tight budget, yes. As listed on Amazon in October 2026 it pairs a 1000W-peak motor with dual mechanical disc brakes, a lockable front fork, a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain, throttle with cruise control, and a removable 360Wh battery, and the listing names UL 2849 certification. The catch is the small battery: 360Wh means roughly 15-25 real-world miles, not the 40-mile best-case claim.
Jasion claims up to 40 miles in pedal-assist mode from the 360Wh battery. Using the 15-25 Wh-per-mile rule of thumb, expect roughly 15-25 miles of mixed real-world riding, less on throttle only, with a heavier rider, hills or cold weather. Battery watt-hours predict real range better than any mileage claim.
Yes. The current listing describes four riding modes: pedal assist, pure electric (throttle) with cruise control, pedal-only, and walk assist. Top speed is listed as 20 mph.
The EB5 listing we link (checked 8 October 2026) does not name a UL certification. A newer EB5 listing that named UL 2849 is currently unavailable. As with any e-bike, confirm the certification on the exact listing you buy from.
They now differ mainly on battery and price. The EB5 is the cheaper bike, in the around-$300 band, with dual mechanical disc brakes. The Cityscape 2.0 costs more (under-$500 band) and brings a bigger 468Wh battery, about 90% pre-assembled shipping, and a UL certification named on its listing. Only the Cityscape names UL certification. Buy the EB5 for short trips on the lowest budget; buy the Cityscape if you need range.
Jasion sells several bikes with EB5 in the name: the EB5 MAX (2000W peak, 48V 15Ah), the EB5 Ultra (2500W peak, 1040Wh) and the 20-inch fat-tire EB5 Sport. They are different, more expensive bikes. This review covers the standard EB5 with the 360Wh battery; the link on this page goes directly to that listing.
